Xiaojie Yan is a lecturer and researcher in Department of Agricultural/ Mechanical Engineering. She received her PhD degree in Biosystems Engineering from University of Manitoba, Canada in 2022. Dr. Yan also works as a part-time postdoc in college of Biosystems Engineering and Food Science at Zhejiang University from 2022 to 2024. Her research interests focus on precision livestock farming and animal welfare in livestock operations. She has been conducting research covering such topics as swine gait and behaviour, air quality in animal production facilities, emissions and dispersion of odour from livestock operations, and grain storage. Dr. Yan has published several SCI papers and she is a member of several professional societies, including Canadian Society for Bioengineering and American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers.
